I might actually leave (mental) healthcare and go into consulting work not because of licensing red tape, but because the licensing boards are unduly influenced by the professional associations, which are entirely captured by woke. They're so far in the tank for gender affirming care, e.g., that it's become antithetical to the profession itself.
This is the same for all of medicine too, as activism has replaced reality-based care. The zealots are pushing anti-white racism via DEI, anti-free speech via pharmaceutical leverage, and anti-gun platforms via "youth gun deaths." It's very bad.
And this speaks nothing of the entire health insurance world, which is a nearing total insanity. I could go on and on, but apart from parallel systems, which the current ones likely won't allow, solutions are few.
